In a statement, Project Head, Kim Angelo Atienza noted that "CASA Guild Fest 2022 kicked off to highlight CASA being redefined as they offer something fresh and new, and to showcase what each guild has to offer, has to be brought to the table."
The event consisted of interviews with the heads of each guild as they were asked regarding their experiences and goals during the pandemic. Performances from MusiCASA and CASA Footworks were also interspersed throughout the event's runtime, providing entertainment for those in attendance.
Included in a jam-packed circle of guilds are MusiCASA, CASA Footworks, CASA Retorika, CASA Multimedia, and CASA Chronicle.
MusiCASA
Through the power of music, MusiCASA aims to provide comfort and joy to the CASAn community. It is also their way of helping talented CASAns showcase their musical abilities and be featured not just inside the bubble of the Communication Arts program, but also to the whole Thomasian community. As Leo Victor M. Masa, MusiCASA's Guild Head, said in a statement, “In MusiCASA, we accept CASAns who have a love for music regardless of their skill. I believe that everyone deserves a chance to be heard, self-confidence is just the wall to being heard. Thus, if you're a music enthusiast who just loves making playlists or listening to music or simply, you are a musician. Then you are welcome.”
CASA Footworks
"Solid with God, Together we dance." CASA Footworks' motto summarizes what the guild is all about: using the art of movement to honor God and build relationships with one another. Even with the challenges brought by the ongoing pandemic, the guild remains active and is able to put out amazing performances throughout the year, including today's event. CASA Footworks showed that they won't let the quarantine keep them from showcasing their passion for dancing.
CASA Retorika
CASA Retorika is where members of the CASAn community hone and showcase their ability in public speaking. As students of the Communication Arts program, public speaking is a skill that proves itself vital to successful speeches, presentations, and hosting gigs.
“As a junior guild head, bringing CASA Retorika into the spotlight is a great opportunity for us. Guild Fest 2022 is important to us, public speakers, because it will give exposure to what we live up for as a guild; our principles. Nonetheless, it is a great event because it enables us to grow and venture.” George Matthew T. Medallon, Junior CASA Retorika Guild Head, stated in an interview.
CASA Multimedia
CASA Multimedia handles a wide variety of media materials for the whole Communications Arts Students' Association. Adept at various fields such as photography, videography, graphic design, and animation, CASA Multimedia's job goes way beyond producing what is aesthetically pleasing for its audience; clarity and efficiency to deliver a message is also a core competency of the guild. For many Communications Arts students looking to make it into the media industry as creatives, CASA Multimedia is the place for them to learn and nurture their skills.
CASA Chronicle
Last active back in 2014, CASA Chronicle hopes to make a bold return as the official publication of the Communication Arts program. Dubbed "Community-Focused and Student-Driven," CASA Chronicle sets its eyes on not only becoming the program's primary source of news but also its avenue for young writers to express themselves creatively and practice communication as an art.
In an interview, Chronicle's Editor-In-Chief, Mia Seleccion encouraged CASAns to join the publication: “To my fellow CASAns, CASA Chronicle is opening its doors to you. This is a space of our own, by the CASAns and for the CASAns, which is why we are looking forward to having like-minded people on board with us. If you have a passion for writing, the willingness to learn in a growing and collaborative environment, and the consistent drive to serve others, then we are more than ready to welcome you.”
