Coming in fresh more than ever! The Communication Arts Students’ Association welcomed its new batch of freshmen at this year’s ROARientation and Welcome Walk last Wednesday, August 6. Inspired by the animated series Trese, the new set of freshies occupied the Quadricentennial Pavilion with their unique and enthusiastic energy.

Following the university’s solemn tradition, the event commenced with a mass that happened from 7:30 AM until 8:50 AM.

Shouts of anticipation and excitement filled the venue as the much-awaited ROARientation finally commenced. The event started at 9:00 AM with a dance performance from UST PRIME and the introduction of UST Yellow Jackets, the university’s official pep squad and drumline.
Overflowing with passion and energy, the Yellow Jackets, along with UST PRIME, led the crowd of freshmen as they taught the university’s official chants.
The Welcoming Remarks were subsequently shared by Master Teacher Emmanuel M. Batulan, Phd, the Executive Assistant to the Secretary General. This was then followed by the freshmen’s oath-taking ceremony.
All were left in awe as Mediartrix, Teatrong Tomasino, and UST Coro Tomasino delivered their one-of-a-kind performances, showcasing true Thomasian talent!

The crowd roared as the UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe dominated the stage with their Golden-themed dance routine, followed by the introduction of the university’s Basketball and Volleyball teams.
Closing the event was a set of dance performances from named dance troupes around the campus.

The most awaited walk through the Arch of Centuries commenced at around 12:00 PM.
Excitement filled the air as the new batch of CASAn freshmen flooded Quezon Drive, awaiting to walk through the Arch.
With bright smiles and warm welcomes from their new family, the freshmen merrily stepped into their new journey as now Thomasians.

As part of the Onboarding activities this year, the annual Thomasian Welcome Party rocked the Quadricentennial Pavilion last Thursday, August 7.
The event kicked off with a mind-blowing dance number from UST PRIME, which was then followed by another amazing performance from One SHADE Dance Squad, the official dance troupe of the College of Fine Arts and Design.

Introducing the pool of bands is JYVE! and Miktinig, serenading the crowd with their wonderful vocals and sensational instrumental skills.

The crowd once again roared as local band The Ridleys took the center stage, delivering high-energy that had the concertgoers singing their hearts out into the evening. Performing their original and fan-favorite tracks, like Aphrodite, Milkyway, and Garden, the band captivated the audience with their majestic talent. Their performance was marked as the main event for the Thomasian Welcome Party 2025.
