CASA Chronicle launches its first-ever anthology of CASAn poetry

CASA Chronicle, the official student publication of UST CASA, is kicking off the celebration of World Poetry Day 2022 by featuring an anthology of poems in collaboration with CASAns.

The publication opened a submission space from March 8-15, 2022, and collected poems written by CASAns that will be published and featured in the literary section. In harmony with UNESCO’s recognition of WPD, CASA Chronicle is bringing this literary event to the CASAn community as part of its mission to deliver people-focused narratives and celebrate the gift of writing.

The celebration of this event will last for 4 days, starting today, March 18 until March 21, which is the day UNESCO declared World Poetry Day during its 30th General Conference in Paris back in 1999.

In a message on the occasion of WPD 2022, Audrey Azoulay, the Director-General of UNESCO, expressed the indispensability of poetry in society as it speaks to our common humanity and unites people regardless of cultural differences.

Arranged in words, coloured with images, struck with the right meter, the power of poetry has no match. As an intimate form of expression that opens doors to others, poetry enriches the dialogue that catalyses all human progress and is more necessary than ever in turbulent times.

All poems that will be featured in the upcoming days have never been previously published and are unique on their own, which show the distinct voices and experiences of the selected writers.
