UST CASA attends FDCP's Exclusive Media Conference for JuanFlix

The Film Development Council of the Philippines invited UST CASA to their Exclusive Media Conference for the launch of the streaming platform, JuanFlix. 

JuanFlix, formerly called the FDCP Channel, aims to make Filipino movies more accessible to viewers through its comprehensive library of classic and up-and-coming films, new website features, and more user-friendly subscription modes. The Media Conference was held at the FDCP Cinematheque Centre in Manila last November 11, 2022.


Present at the event were Vice President for Internal Affairs, ​​Nathanael Monte; Executive Associate to the Secretary, Paul Danley Nucum; Executive Associate to the Chief-of-Staff, Caryl Kilvette Sanchez; Executive Staff to the Finance, Kaith Talag; and Executive Associate to the Auditor, Elsa Macalinao.


The online streaming platform is known for its efforts in heartening the interests of local and international film enthusiasts, students, young filmmakers, and general viewers by providing Filipino masterpieces and film restorations produced by promising and reputable creators of the industry, in pursuit of increasing the participation of the Filipino people. Some of the critically-acclaimed films included in its library are Pagdating sa Dulo by Ishmael Bernal, Perfumed Nightmare by Kidlat Tahimik, Insiang by Lino Brocka, Genghis Khan by Manuel Conde, and Ma’ Rosa by Brillante Mendoza.


UST CASA’s Vice President for Internal Affairs, Mr. Nathanael Monte notes, “As future media practitioners, we become competent by recognizing and supporting what is ours to draw inspiration to our own crafts and talents. Let’s start to support locally-made films to understand the reality of the Filipinos through authentic narratives of these films of brilliant directors and writers.”


In line with the platform's new features, subscribers of the online streaming platform will have four modes of subscription that they may select for their access to the services, mainly:


  • Free
  • Monthly 
  • Annual Subscription
  • Pay-Per-View


For its first-ever film festival, JuanFlix is streaming Animahenasyon: The Philippine Animation Festival on November 18, 2022. The festival aims to highlight the field of animation and promote the creation of original content. The platform is available in various devices like personal computers, mobile devices, and tablets.
