Following the successful Welcome Walk for Batch 2025, rain or shine, the University of Santo Tomas held the Roarientation and Homecoming Walk for sophomores and juniors for Batch 1 and 2 last Tuesday, August 23, 2022.

“Everything about August 23 definitely felt surreal and it's the kind of experience that I will treasure for life. Seeing my blockmates and celebrating that day with them made it a thousand times better!” Caryl Kilvette A. Sanchez of 3COM2 stated.

The event started later than expected because of some unforeseen events. The program is opened by celebrating the Welcome Mass presided by Vice-Rector for Religious Affairs Rev. Fr. Pablo T. Tiong, O. P., followed by the Roarientation hosted by Tiger Girl, Alia Denise Aguilar from 3COM4 and Tiger Boy, Joseph Atabay from 4COM2.

It’s really #NoPlaceLikeUST as Tiger Media Network produced another quality event. The “GoUSTE” chant as the crowd’s favorite was present. While performances from the Salinggawi Dance Troupe, UST Yellow Jackets, BA Dauncen, and Artistang Artlets made the event more momentous.

In an interview with Kim Salenga of 2COM2, she shared that “meeting most of my blockmates is a long overdue event, as I would always say. Being there at Raymund’s, gathering one by one inside room 205 and shrieking gleefully once a new blockmate arrives, is a sight and feeling to behold. For a moment, I sat in a corner and thought to myself, this is what my life would be like 5 times a week if only we finally had face-to-face classes. I felt nothing but joy. My heart felt full even if we were only together for a few hours. I prayed we had more time.”

Having this kind of event gives hope to some of the communication students to be back again normally and not occasionally at the University. “Hopefully, Yes!! Kasi deserve natin ang full Thomasian exp not only the roarientation and welcome walk but also the breakdowns sa campus.” Kristan Esguerra of 3COM4 said.

Wrapping up the event, all the college and faculty sophomores and juniors entered the historical Arch of the Centuries. Unfortunately, the Homecoming Walk for Batch 3 was cut off because of the heavy rain due to Typhoon Florita.

Kevin Christian Crisolo

Hello everyone! Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening. As a 19 year old college student, communication is my passion. I am Kevin Christian S. Crisolo, but I’d like you to call me “KC”, a proud member of LGBTQ+ Community, from the land of brave and valiant men, Cavite! I am a goodhearted and sweet, expressive, and a risk taker type of person. You can catch up with me easily as 1,2,3. I am fond of mingling with others because I want to learn from their experiences and at the same time to have fun with a variety of people. And that is one of the many reasons why I have been an active member since elementary in our school publication and media. I can say that character leads my way.
