The long wait is over.
After two years of inactivity, the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) announces that Season 84 of Women's Volleyball is set to open on May 5, 2022, with consideration of having a "closed-circuit" format.
The UAAP Board of Managing Directors will finalize their decision for the upcoming Women's Volleyball in a meeting this week to ensure a smooth-sailing operation, as well as the safety of all participants.
Season 84 is long-awaited by volleyball fans as it will be the first UAAP Volleyball tournament since the government's implementation of a lockdown following the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic way back in March of 2020.
Still, for unknown reasons, the Men's Indoor Volleyball will not be pushed through this season. Meanwhile, the Men's Beach Volleyball competition is expected to start soon and is waiting for the final guidelines and official announcement.
The venue and schedule of the volleyball games are yet to be released.
