Comebacks are real!
After a 4th place finish last Season 82, UST Salinggawi Dance Troupe is now ready to showcase an astounding performance once again in the upcoming UAAP Season 84 Cheerdance competition. The UAAP is set to kick off the competition on May 22, 2022, as told by a source from The Varsitarian.
The team trained virtually for two years before the bubble on-campus training started on March 7, 2022.
In spite of the challenges faced by the group, Mark Chaiwalla, Salinggawi's head coach, assures the Thomasian community to expect a rust-free performance for this season.
"Syempre with two years of no physical training, it would greatly affect their athletic capabilities," Chaiwalla said. "But even with the limited time to prepare physically after coming back, we will make sure that things would look the same, or even better."
Chaiwalla is confident that they can produce a fiery performance by integrating dance segments that will showcase the group's resilience and artistic versatility.
The eight-time champion Salinggawi Dance Troupe will perform last for this season, in which there is still no venue disclosed.
