6 more days before the long-awaited comeback of UAAP

Mark your calendars because the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) is set to return with its Season 84 on March 26, 2022. The much anticipated collegiate sports competition will feature different sports in a bubble set-up in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Here are the following sports that are set to make a return:

  • Men's Basketball
  • Men and Women's 3x3 Basketball
  • Women's Indoor Volleyball
  • Men's Beach Volleyball
  • Men and Women's Chess
  • Poomsae
  • Cheerdance Competition

First to see inside the court will be the men’s basketball as they set action on Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena. After that, tentatively in May, women’s volleyball will see action simultaneously with beach volleyball, 3X3 men’s basketball, poomsae, and chess. While the order of performances for the Cheerdance Competition has been released, the date and venue are yet to be announced. No live audiences are allowed to watch in the venue for all aforementioned sports for the sake of maintaining safety protocols.

The University of Santo Tomas held its own UAAP Kick-Off Party yesterday, March 19, 2022, via live stream at Tiger Media Network's Facebook page. Using the hashtag #GrowlForGreatness, Thomasians showed and gave their avid support for every competing Thomasian athlete set to represent the university for the upcoming 84th UAAP Season.
