Fueled by their versatility and innovative ideas, second-year Communication students geared up for success as they showcased their creative prowess in the highly anticipated BroadQuest 2025 last December 17, 2025, at the EdTech Center in the Saint Pier Giorgio Frassati Building.
This BroadQuest edition also marks the first time it was conducted through a hybrid setup, utilizing Zoom for live streaming due to limited capacity in the onsite venue. The event was hosted by CASA Retorika’s Najmia Barbie Pangandaman and Niel Patrick Celestino.
BroadQuest is the annual culminating project and interclass competition for second-year learners, where they apply the concepts learned in their Broadcasting Principles (CA 3283) class in line with real-world demands of the broadcast industry. The project also served as partial fulfillment of the course requirements.
This year, sophomores from five different blocks were tasked with collaboratively pitching and creating content strategies with Studio More. The studio is a space where Artlet imagination meets storytelling that reflects the academic life and unique student identity of the faculty. These strategies should also include a partnership with The Flame, the official student-led publication of AB, and operate across various online platforms, particularly through Facebook, TikTok, and Spotify.
To open the event, Asst. Professor Faye Martel-Abugan, the course facilitator, delivered a brief yet motivating message, assuring her learners not to feel intimidated and to go with the flow as they present their hard-earned outputs.
The order of presentation was determined by drawing lots to buzz up the venue with jitters and excitement. Studio Bytes (2COM3) found themselves in the lap of the gods as the first presenters, followed by JumpShift Studios (P-CA3283), Studio More (2COM1), Com4rt Media (2COM4), and Twoday Studios (2COM2) as second, third, fourth, and fifth presenters respectively.
Tension and enthusiasm filled the holding rooms as the blocks waited for their turns to present. The same atmosphere was felt in the online landscape, as participants showed their support for their classmates via chatbox and emoji reactions.
After each presentation, the presenters–joined by their core and respective unit heads–faced a panel of Communication Arts experts in a question-and-answer session designed to put their creativity and competency to the test.
Entering the event’s most nerve-racking part–the awarding proper–host Celestino boosted the spirits and confidence of sophomores with a brief speech, inspiring them to be “future broadcasters of this country.”

Studio More of 2COM1 ascended the throne with a clean sweep, bringing home an astounding number of six major awards, including Best Content Strategy, Best Audience Insight, Best Platform Execution, Best Use of The Flame Partnership, Most Feasible Studio More Plan, and Content Strategist of the Year.
Production houses Twoday Studios and Studio Bytes also made the cut for the Content Strategist of the Year award, clinching second and third place, respectively.
Individual distinctions shone under the brightest lights as Com4rt Media dazzled the stage for Best Female Presenter, with Leiriza Barnachea of 2COM4 as its recipient. JumpShift Studios also earned recognition for Best Male Presenter, with Carlos Castillo of P-CA3283 securing the title.
BroadQuest not only elevated creativity and wit to greater heights, but also taught sophomores to be resilient in the face of workload demands. Regardless of the awards garnered, the experience equipped learners with what to anticipate in their future quests and to savor the moments of making their projects possible.
