In response to the Executive Order No. 7, s. 2022 which allowed the voluntary wearing of face masks in both outdoor and indoor settings, The Office of the Secretary-General of the University of Santo Tomas announces that wearing of masks in enclosed areas within the university remains “strongly recommended” in spite of the recent lift in restrictions.

The Executive Order No. 7, s. 2022, was signed back on October 28, 2022 by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. It states that the wearing of face masks in both outdoor and indoor settings will no longer be required, with the exception of certain public places including but not limited to healthcare facilities, medical transport vehicles, and all types of public transports.

It can be remembered that the Office of the Secretary General issued a memorandum regarding the university’s updated health protocols which included the optional wearing of face masks back on September 13, 2022, in response to Executive Order No. 3, s. 2022.

The university prioritizes everyone’s safety and well-being around the campus by also encouraging the students and staff to fill up their COVID-19 Response Case Tracker found in your ThOMedSS account.
