With the theme “Rise As One," the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) will be back in the game for its 85th season on Saturday, October 1, 2022, and will be hosted by Adamson University.
The premiere collegiate league will begin the season with their pre-recorded opening ceremony which will be aired via Cignal T.V. at 12:30 PM, followed by the Men’s and the returning Women's Basketball.
The season opener will see the UST Growling Tigers and Tigresses face Adamson University's Soaring Falcons.

The venues for the whole Basketball season will be at the Mall of Asia Arena, SMART Araneta, Ynares Sports Antipolo, and the UST Quadricentennial Pavilion.
Meanwhile, after two years of inactivity, some sports will make their comeback as the current pandemic situation is gradually going back to a "better normal." UAAP Executive Director Atty. Rebo Saguisag said that UAAP will host 60 events in 21 sports following its full athletic calendar, namely:

The UAAP is also set to bring back high school tournaments like juniors football, juniors volleyball, boys basketball, and boys and girls beach volleyball. Dates are to be finalized.
To give way to the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers in November, the UAAP has set quadruple-headers on Wednesdays and double-headers on Saturdays.
