Ms. Gomez, a Media Relations Executive at Forest Interactive and AB Communications alumna, talked about the importance of empowerment for employees. “How a company empowers its people factors in the long run. Empowering people helps them decide better where to put actual work and effort.” Ms. Gomez explains to our junior CASAns.
The second talk of the day was delivered by PayRemit’s Director of Marketing & Public Relations Ms. Tracy Manlangit, and revolves around answering the common job interview question, “where do you see yourself in 5-10 years?” Ms. Manlangit advised, “flexibility can get you further than you ever thought possible,” referring to the mindset and expectations employees ought to embody if they wish to have career longevity.
Shores & Currents, a band consisting of students from the Faculty of Arts and Letters and Faculty of Engineering serenaded the event with their rendition of Eraserheads’ With a Smile.
A Question-and-Answer segment from both of today’s speakers took place after the intermission. Asst. Prof. and Internship Advisor Ms. Anna Cielo T. Perez also returned to finish answering questions for her orientation yesterday regarding the process of applying for internships. Certificates of Appreciation for both Ms. Gomez and Ms. Manlangit were given after the segment.
For the closing remarks, Executive Associate to the Public Relations Officer and Project Head of Transcend 2022, Ms. Cristina Manlangit, thanked the speakers and her team for pulling off the event. As she remarked, “to spearhead an event such as this alongside with my team, I can say that it has been a great pleasure planning, preparing, and polishing a platform wherein our juniors can ready themselves for their journey onward, widen their horizons, and envision themselves, from this moment forward, as soon to be professionals each about to make their own difference in the world.”
