As the academic year is about to start, the CASAn freshmen did not hesitate to give their loudest roar during the annual freshmen festivities, which happened on Monday, August 05 at the Quadricentennial Pavilion and Arch of the Centuries.

Almost 200 first-year students are enrolled under the Communication program, according to The Flame.

The CASA staff did not miss this opportunity to talk and ask welcoming questions to these CASAn freshies.

"Documentaries po kasi have always been part of my interests during my secondary education. I really haven't experienced anything related to broadcasting." Mikaela, a CASAn freshman, answered when asked about the reason for taking Communication as her chosen college degree.

Being a diverse and versatile program as it is, Rawan Asha of 1COM4 decided to keep her path broad by choosing Communication as this aligns with most of her interests and strengths in language and writing.

CASAns were full of fresh insights and perspectives as they were asked about the things they are looking forward to on Communication as their program.

"A deeper understanding of each subject and comprehension" - this is what Kenneth Aguila of 1COM4 is looking forward to learning in communication.

Meanwhile, Gen and Mikaela of 1COM3 are stoked for learning about media entertainment and the technicalities of writing articles.

As college years are considered to be the most exciting time for students, CASAns gladly share things they want to achieve during this time.

Rawan Asha (1COM4) openly shares that becoming a published writer is one of the things she wants to achieve in college. Kenneth Aguila (1COM4), on the other hand, oversaw the good experience in college as part of his achievement. He also added that college is the most crucial time as it can be full of pressure, but learning and enjoying the moment is the most important.

The freshies also got excited when asked about the events that they are looking out for the coming academic year. Without hesitations, most of the CASAn freshies answered that they look forward to some of the famous events of UST such as the Paskuhan & Baccalaureate Mass.

Congratulations and Welcome to the new batch of CASAns! May the academic year 2024-2025 be filled with opportunities and knowledge for all of you!
